Today I saw a client who has been with me for six months. In this time he has lost 17kgs of fat and put on 4kgs of muscle. Not bad for anyone at any age. But the difference is that he is a 54 year old CEO of a well known multinational company. He spends most of his time travelling, not just locally but internationally. He is divorced, so he doesn’t have anyone at home preparing his meals and therefore eats out – a lot. When it comes to stress, few of us will ever experience what he goes through in a day.
The difference between Mr. CEO and the average person is that he made health his priority alongside all of his other pressing commitments. Somewhere along the line he realised that unless he looks after his wellbeing, his ability to perform will be severely compromised. This is someone who used to drink a bottle of wine a night and several beers with everyone else. Although it is not a pre-requisite, since starting his health journey with Re-Invent, he hasn’t touched alcohol in 6 months and it shows. He has added 10 or more years of quality living to his lifeline and looks like a man of 45, not one approaching 55. So if he can do it, with all of the excuses in the world, what is your excuse? When are you going to make health your priority?
I have spent more than half my life researching, questioning and teaching the fundamentals of basic good health, weight-loss and positive body image.
